Lawn Maintenance in Lake Ridge, VA

Lake Ridge has about 7,700 homes spread over more than 70 subdivisions and nine condo complexes, most of them built after 1972 under one homeowners association. That shared setup shapes our lawn maintenance here: yards need to look consistent with the neighborhood, and lots that drain toward the Occoquan Reservoir need careful handling. See our Lake Ridge service page for everything else we offer in the community.

HOA Expectations and Reservoir Runoff

The Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association has been the HOA since 1972, and many exterior and landscaping changes need association approval. Regular mowing and cleanup cover most appearance concerns, and if you plan to remove shrubs or change bed lines, we can put the scope in writing for your application. The reservoir next door supplies drinking water for much of Northern Virginia, so we keep clippings, leaves, and soil out of gutters and drains, and we reseed bare areas before they start to wash.

Services Through the Year

Smaller lots usually need a fast, careful Mowing and Edging visit, while single-family lots take more time with larger beds and longer edges. Homes from the 1970s and 1980s often have mature trees, so fall Leaf Cleanup and spring Debris Cleanup are a big part of the calendar. Pruning keeps older shrubs off siding and sidewalks and within the look the neighborhood expects.

For turf health, we use Yard Aeration in early fall to loosen packed clay and set up overseeding, and Power Raking where thatch is choking older lawns. Irrigated yards get Sprinkler Maintenance each spring and Winterization before the first freeze, so the system starts clean and shuts down safely.

We work all over the community, from the streets off Old Bridge Road and Prince William Parkway to homes near Lake Ridge Park and Marina and Tackett’s Mill.

Our estimates are free. We come out, look at the lawn and beds, ask what your association has flagged in the past, and send a written quote with each service listed. You will see the same crew on every visit, so nothing gets lost between visits.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my HOA need to approve lawn care in Lake Ridge?

Routine mowing and upkeep keep your yard in line with the association. Changes like removing shrubs, reshaping beds, or new plantings may need approval from the Lake Ridge Parks and Recreation Association. We can provide a written scope for your request.

Do you take on small yards and attached homes?

Yes. Small yards are routine for us in Lake Ridge. We use compact mowers and trimmers and keep visits short, while still edging and clearing walks every time.

Why are you careful about where clippings end up?

Lake Ridge borders the Occoquan Reservoir, which supplies drinking water for much of Northern Virginia. Clippings, leaves, and soil washed into drains end up in that watershed, so we blow them back onto the lawn or haul them away.

When should I schedule fall aeration?

Late August through September is ideal, inside the late summer to mid-fall seeding window for tall fescue. Aerating then, before heavy leaf drop, lets us overseed in the same visit and gives new grass time to root.

Can you start up my sprinkler system in spring?

Yes. Spring sprinkler maintenance includes turning the system on, checking each zone, fixing broken or buried heads, and setting a schedule. In fall we come back and winterize it before freezing weather.
